What is the GUUT ultra trail run?

The GUUT ultra trail run is an exciting series of two annual events, featuring a summer edition for individual runners and a winter edition for teams of two or three. Distances range from 60 to 100 km, with unmarked routes that require GPS navigation, ensuring a unique challenge for all participants. The routes includes both trail and off-trail running.

Is it possible for family and friends to follow the runners?

Yes, the runners are equipped with a GPS tracker, making it possible to follow them real time during the races.

Are there any rules the runners should be aware of?

The route must be followed within +/- 20 meters. It is allowed to leave the route, for example to buy supplies, but you must return to the route at the exact point where you left it.

It is not allowed to receive external support (that others do not have access to). You must be self-sufficient along the entire route, but you are allowed to buy supplies, for example at a gas station.

It is not allowed to have a pacer, though it is OK if friends run with you for a few kilometers. BUT they may never run in front and show the way.

Teams (winter edition only) must pass the finish line together. Registered time will be for the last passing runner.

The tracker must be placed high on the running backpack.

How many participants are allowed in each event?

To maintain an intimate and engaging atmosphere, we limit each event to a maximum of 30 participants. This ensures that every runner receives the attention and support they need throughout the race.

What equipment do I need for the race?

Participants are required to have GPS devices for navigation, as the routes are unmarked. Additionally, appropriate trail running gear, hydration packs, and safety equipment are recommended to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience during the race.

Are there any age restrictions for participants?

Yes, participants must be at least 18 years old to enter the GUUT ultra trail run events, ensuring that all competitors are of legal age and capable of handling the physical demands of the races.
