GUUT Summer Edition 2026

New for 2026: Full GUUT or Stage Edition

GUUT Summer Edition 2026 is now open for both full-weekend runners and stage runners.

Take on the full 3-day, 140+ km challenge — or choose one or two individual stages and experience the GUUT format in a more flexible way.

Full GUUT remains the main challenge. Stage Edition is your way in.

GUUT Summer Edition 2026

Race days: September 18–20, 2026

GUUT Summer Edition is a multi-stage, individual ultra trail experience on unmarked routes with GPS navigation, no race support and a GPS tracker for every runner.

For 2026, we are opening the format.

You can now choose between the full three-day challenge or individual stages. This makes it possible to experience the GUUT format even if you are not ready, available or reckless enough to take on the full weekend.

Choose your GUUT

Full GUUT — 3 stages / 140+ km

This is the real full Summer Edition challenge.

You start Friday evening and continue through Saturday and Sunday, covering more than 140 km in three days. Full GUUT is for runners who want the complete multi-stage experience: tired legs, navigation, self-reliance and the mental challenge of getting back out there day after day.

Only runners who complete all three stages within the cut-offs will be listed as Full GUUT finishers.

Medals and UTMB Index recognition, subject to final approval, are only awarded to runners completing the full three-day race within the cut-offs.

Stage Edition — 1 or 2 stages

Not ready for the full weekend? You can now enter one or two individual stages.

Stage Edition gives you the same GUUT DNA: unmarked routes, GPS navigation, limited comfort, drinking water approximately every 20 km and a GPS tracker so family and friends can follow along.

The stages

Stage 1 — Friday, September 18

20+ km
Start: 18:00
Cut-off: 5 hours
Route: Vedbæk Station to Bagsværd

A short but sharp introduction to the GUUT format. Perfect if you want to experience the race atmosphere, test the navigation-based concept or join the weekend without committing to an ultra-distance.

Stage 2 — Saturday, September 19

60+ km
Start: 08:00
Cut-off: 14 hours
Route: Kagerup Station to Bagsværd

The longest stage of the weekend and a proper ultra challenge in its own right. Expect forest trails, navigation, self-reliance and a long day on your feet.

Stage 3 — Sunday, September 20

50+ km
Start: 08:00
Cut-off: 13 hours
Route: Hillerød Station to Bagsværd

The final stage of the weekend. Full GUUT runners will start this stage on tired legs after two days of running, while Stage Edition runners can join for a demanding standalone ultra experience.

What to expect

GUUT is not a mainstream race.

The route is unmarked. You navigate by GPS. There is no race support, but drinking water will be available approximately every 20 km. Each runner carries a GPS tracker, allowing family and friends to follow the race.

The route includes challenging passages. Participation is at your own risk.

This is a race for runners who enjoy self-reliance, uncertainty, wet feet, quiet trails and the feeling of having earned the finish.
